Doing Ones Best
at work implies feeling secure. Feeling secure at work might seem
obvious to people working in a nice, safe environment. But for
people with mobile jobs, this is not always the case.
From Distress to Security
Ironically, it seems the proffessionals whose job is to help other
people who might just find themselves in threatening situations.
Politicians, Social Workers, Housing Officers, Police Officers,
represent just a few of the potential clients of this system.
Other groups, who sometimes face risks simply
in the performance of their work, include farmers, forestry workers, and
Estate Agents. Even private individuals, politicians and high
profile celebrities might be in danger, for example, kidnapping,
robbery or threatening behavior.
A Unique Combination of GSM and GPS
What they all have in common is one important factor: they are
often alone and therefore not always able to get help quickly
when needed in an emergency. In situations like this the INSIGHT
PERSONAL ALARM is invaluable.
The concept is a unique combination of two separate
well known communication systems; GSM AND GPS. The GPS system
determines the position of the person in distress.
The idea behind the INSIGHT PERSONAL
ALARM is as simple as it is useful. All users are provided
with a standard GSM mobile phone, a small telephone module, which
is attached to the phone and a GPS unit.
A tailored action plan is assigned to each individual
customer. This ensures a prompt and correct response from the
alarm operator.
This Is How It Works
When the person in distress pushes the alarm button twice, an
ALARM message is sent to the ALARM operator. A confirmation message
is then sent immediately back to the user. The Alarm Operator
then follows the steps agreed on the action plan.
One major advantage of this service is that the
alarm operator can call the person in distress to ask for additional
information and asses the true brevity of the situation. If the
person in distress is unable to answer, the telephone automatically
answers after a selectable number of rings, permitting the operator
to monitor the emergency situation.
The GPS System allows the operator to determine
the position of the sender, with an error margin of only ten meters,
making it possible to instantly and accurately establish the location
of the person in distress. It is also possible for the operator
to ask the alarm unit to send the current location. This feature
can be used to track a person or vehicle.
With the Insight-PERSONAL ALARM mobile staff
can now feel just as secure as office staff, Regardless profession,
location or time of day
